SKRAT Project

The "Strategic Practice for know-how retention and transmission within organization" (SKRAT) project aims to develop innovation in knowledge retention and know-how transfer in national labour markets, as well as in vocational training systems in Europe. By improving the environment for life long learning within companies, SKRAT will greatly improve the management of demographic change and high turnover rates.

The project addresses the following challenges:

  • loss of company knowledge and know-how base due to high turnover rates and generational changes;

  • high competitiveness and difficulties in adapting to changes;

  • economic difficulties, early retirement and lack of active measures for transfer, all meaning knowledge and productivity loss,

by introducing a set of tools aimed at facilitating the transfer of know-how in the metal industry.

SKRAT's outcomes will therefore contribute to the promotion of innovative and effective measures at grassroot level for improving learning and circulation of information within companies.

The project is targeted to:

  • Employers and employees, mainly working in SMEs in the metal sector;
  • human resource managers involved in turnover processes;
  • experts interested in the development of learning systems in companies, focusing on transfer of knowledge and know-how retention within the company;
  • organisations/companies willing to adopt new methods for retaining and transmitting non formal know-how.
